Excellent first duck for beginners. No permit is required to keep this tiny Teal. Despite their small size can be kept with larger more aggressive ducks such as Mandarins. Unlike most ducks they do not lose their breeding plumage during the summer months. Will use raised Wood Duck stile nest boxes during breeding season. This season may extend in Canada from May all the way to August.
