Penners and Feathers

Unlike other Widgeon, Chiloe female plumage is similar to males.  Native to South America they do not require a permit to keep within Canada. These Widgeon do well in a mixed collection and can tolerate cold conditions.   Care must be given not to keep with other Widgeons and related species. A excellent bird to keep with Mandarin, as they have different nesting requirements.
