Once extremely rare in the wild, Wood Ducks are now one the most common nesting ducks in North America, they do require a permit to keep. Although very shy they are good first duck for beginners. They are very cold hardy and almost bullet proof bird. Like their cousin the Mandarins, they will color and breed within their first year, using a raised nest box for incubation.
Our current stock consists of birds purchased from Manitoba and Quebec. Our birds are highly prolific, raising 18 birds from two pair.
